Don't even expect half of it to make sense. To understand MSI (and this album) you need to understand thier demeanor. MSI almost create thier own genre of witty, subversive lyrics mixed with insane jungle-electronica spasms and whirring guitars that actually make for a hard listen at first. When I first heard this album, I had nothing else to compare it to. It's ok to have FUN with music, and not follow any kind of template.
This album, for me, was a grower. Frankenstien Girls Will Seem Strangely Sexy is one of the most ORIGINAL albums I've heard in my life up until this point. Don't expect to be able to put a genre on it, other than "Industrial-Jungle-Pussy-Punk". Buy this album, buy it buy it buy it. MSI strive to innovate, they're not content with making 3 minute ballads.
Before you listen: MSI don't take themselves too seriously. Then buy Tight. But that's a good thing. They want you to think for yourselves, interpret the lyrics with a sense of individuality, and have fun dancing to the music. From seemingly "pointless" skits such as "I'm your problem now", to tracks they still play today like "Bitches", the album is very diverse and above all, ENTERTAINING.
MSI don't make songs about break ups or emotions, so don't expect anything straightforward or generic. At least, that's the impression I get. Then make fun of "how mainstream" they've gotten.
1 1/2I've hardly come across a more musically offensive compilation, but you almost feel sorry for how bad it stinks. This is a very ambitious mess of experimental adolescent angst, occasionally lifting in chaotic moments of overlapping rancid noise, but almost exclusively, and for 30 consecutively bombarding minute-and-change tracks, feels like a monotonous indie production from hell with piss-poor structure, amateur beat production, and purely retarded vocals making MSI feel like the most contrived teen-aged edginess this side of Ashlee Simpson.
I apsolutely love this cd i think it's their best so if you like msi & for some reason haven't heard this cd BUY IT it's awesome.
First song I had ever heard from these guys was, "Clarissa" to Sealab 2021 animation. But, their songs are usually pretty easy to figure out the lyrics for, like,"Dicks Are For My Friends." So if you like their music, I recommend you buy this. I've loved their music ever since. This CD is great, has a lot of good songs on it, icluding, "Golden I" and "Played." The only thing I don't like is that there is no lyrics. It's one of those CD's you can listen to over and over. Now I just need to find a cheap Tight CD, that song rules.
I love this band, they're fully sick in the head and they make my butt wet.
